Narendra Modi is the current Prime Minister of India. He was born on September 17, 1950, in the Indian state of Gujarat. Modi’s father was a street merchant, and Modi helped his father sell tea as a child. He later became involved in politics as a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, a Hindu nationalist organization.
